Final Draft

When I was looking at my third draft, I realised that there was just too much colour and information which made it look too complicated. To change this, I decided to firstly use a different picture in which my model wasn't wearing the hat, as there was no need for the yellow font, as this was from the brand on the hat itself. I then saw that I used a mixture of colours for my third draft so I decided to stick to mainly red, blue, black, and white. I firstly changed the masthead as I felt that it looked too tacky because the effect on it looked like plastic, by the white shiny curves at the top. This made the masthead less attractive so I decided to change it to just a bold impact font, red. The font was blue with a red backdrop however this was not bold enough or eye-catching so I kept it red. After this, I went onto looking at my selling line and decided that I should have it above my masthead so that this can be bold for my readers. I took off the button on the right and placed "issue no1" at the top with the selling line. At first, I kept the yellow font for the explanatory texts however I saw that there was no need as the yellow didn't match up with anything else on the cover and it was just adding more colour. I took the yellow off and stuck to black and blue. Comparing my first draft to this final draft, I can see that I have made a huge improvement in making the front cover look as professional as possible. To give me ideas, I researched front covers from vibe magazine which was also an R&B magazine, to see the ideas presented on the cover. I could see that it was also plain and simple without too much colour or detail.
