feedback of first draft

haunted first draft from St Marylebone Media Studies on Vimeo.

I have split the feedback up in order to compare what each person wrote for each specific question. The first question said “what genre would you place this trailer in?” The results from the question showed that all the audience watching managed to figure out that the genre was horror/thriller meaning that we are able to stick to our conventions. The second question asked was “what codes and conventions of the genre did you recognise in the trailer” and on the feedback stated the camera work, atmospheric soundtrack, mise-en-scene, special effects, and the flash edits. This was great feedback as this was especially what we were looking to hear after creating the trailer. The next question asked “what do you anticipate will happen in the film?” and the feedback stated that there is a lot of killing and someone dies in the end. This was useful as we did not give much away in the trailer meaning that we wanted the audience to be curious and make them want to watch the actual film. The last question states “what are you curious to find out” and the feedback from the audience stated that they are curious to find out who the masked character is, why he/she is killing people, what the necklace represents, and what happens in the end. We have achieved to make a successful trailer that appeals to the audience however we will still edit again to make a final draft by removing some effects as people have written that the effects may be a bit too much and over-used. The music seemed to be very spooky and created huge suspense therefore the music will stay. Also, a problem in which we need to sort out and edit again on final cut pro is that at 00:13 the size of the clip is not 720x576 at a 16:9 aspect ratio when Louise is putting on her chain and it fades to the next clip so we will need to change this to the correct size.
