Sounds research

I used a sounds website in order to find some of the music that I would like to include in my trailer. I came across many that I liked and I decided that I would listen to them all while playing the trailer in order to see which was more effective. I decided to have my audience listen to the songs that I had chosen in order to gain their feedback and this also helped to choose the correct one.

This background sound was very eerie and built up suspense therefore allowing the audience to notice the genre of the trailer. The constant drumming beats emphasise the thrill coming up, and the high pitched noises emphasise the tense movements in the trailer. We decided that this was too slow to use as the clips in the trailer are quite fast for example a chasing scene.

This was another sound clip found on the website which was effective as it included a fuzzy sound that created tension. However when playing this sound with the trailer, it did not match at all.

The Whisperer In The Dark by sania_fatema This sound clip starts off quite low and dull however starts to build a creepier affect. Using final cut pro is very useful as it allows us to cut in between the clips meaning that we can use any of the sound clip such as the beginning, middle, end, or even a few seconds if we wanted. This was still not suited for our trailer.

Witches by Chase Plott When listening to this sound clip, it sounded a bit like the sound before with the low beat at the beginning however it started to get faster around 1 min 30 seconds with a eerie sound to it. This was suited with our trailer as the fast bit related with the chase scenes and the fast and quick cuts in the trailer. We added this sound onto the trailer as the background sound, and used the razor blade tool to cut from the beginning up to the faster sounds and put it in place. This built a more scarier atmosphere and suited the trailer very well. After feedback, everyone was confident in saying that the sound clip added the most effect to the trailer along with the visual effects.
